Adopt: The hawksbill turtles of Yadua Taba island

Species: Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata)

About the Hawksbill turtles: The adopted hawksbill turtles live in the waters around Fiji. Females come to nest on Talice beach, one of four sandy beaches on the uninhabited island of Yadua Taba. The island itself is very small at only 70 hectares and is located about 20km off the west coast of Fiji’s second largest island, Vanua Levu. The sea close to Yadua Taba island is rich in seagrass meadows and coral reefs – feeding grounds for hawksbills. All WWF hawksbill turtle adopters ‘adopt’ the hawksbill turtles of Yadua Taba island, so that WWF can share the ongoing story of these turtles with you.
